Present Moment Awareness

Practicing Joy is my very own passion project with a unique approach to living a happy life regardless of the pain and difficult challenges that life presents us. I invite you to join me on this journey.

Choosing Joy sounds simple. But in times of trial or when going through tragedy, traumatic events can leave us stuck with feelings of suffering and despair. It has been my experience that finding Joy and living life happy even in the worst moments of my life, has become a necessity to move forward with pain and grief. Knowing Joy doesn't always come naturally for everyone. I have found Practicing Joy has been much more meaningful and can be used as a powerful technique in moving forward even on the sad days and not getting stuck in the "yuck" - of grief.

This approach comes with some planning, a little bit of organizing and a lot of intentionality and focus. The benefits that come from the daily Practice of Joy; being more present, increase of clarity and focus, and being more mindful in life's experiences. Being aware of the magical moments that are happening all around you, noticing, meaningful moments and special connection.

Friends, I am no stranger to loss. I too have experienced the unthinkable. When overwhelming sadness and unspeakable grief started to consume my life, I knew I had to find a way to come back and be present in my life.

I wrote Practicing Joy in one of the darkest seasons of my life. For me, that is why this practice has become so important. And I want to share it with YOU! It has become a way of life for me and my family. Joy is essential to our survival. Without it, would be like not breathing. And if you're not taking in air, you're left suffocating. Joy is the light that lifts us up out of the darkness and helps us find life again. Having Joy and happiness in our lives gives us strength. Joy = is actually our Superpower!

I want Joy for everyone!

Practicing Joy requires a discovery of self. Commitment. Experimentation. Exploration. Present Moment Awareness. Appreciative Inquiry.  Positivity Resonance. These tools and techniques are life changing, especially if you've been lost for a while. It's a fun and creative process that includes planning purposeful activities and then actually practicing them on a daily basis. AND SO MUCH MORE!

I hope you'll join me for, together as we explore new ways to:

Practice Joy EVERYDAY!

Thank You for being here. I look forward to connecting with you on the Blog. I hope that reading the book Practicing Joy will encourage your heart, and moving through the PJ Workbook will spark excitement in your day, encourage creativity and inspire you to Discover Joy again in your daily life.

I Wish You, Joy

With Grace & Gladness,

Edie

We all have a "Perfect Day" in our mind. The perfect place, surrounded by the people that we love and all of our favorite things that bring us Joy.

Taylor Swift sings a song about, "The Best Day". A song she wrote about spending the day with her mom when she was a little girl. The days of Pumpkin Patches, Princesses' & Pirate Ships.

When I think about some of my Best Days, they were definitely THOSE days, innocent, simple, naive days when my kids were little, and we're doing something fun together, enjoying their childhood. I've always loved being their mom. Boy, do I miss that time in my life when they were little and it was just us. I didn't realize it then, but looking back now, I know how special that time was then. I still wish today that I would have enJOYed more of my time with them and not have been so worried about things that just didn't matter.

I have had a lot of good days in my life. I've had way too many bad days. I want more "Best Days". Until one day, when we are all back together again, we will have the "Perfect Day".

In the meantime, in the in-between time, in-between all the good, the bad and the Best Days, I will "Practice Joy" and live my life Happy.

Have Happy Days.
